Who is Dr. Anton Plakseychuk?

Dr. Anton Plakseychuk, MD, PhD, received his medical degree from Kazan State Medical University in Russia, completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and a joint reconstruction fellowship at UPMC, and trained in surgical navigation, robotics, and computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. He is fellowship-trained in hip arthroscopy and an expert in minimally invasive direct anterior total hip arthroplasty. With over 35 years of clinical experience, more than 30 patents in the field of orthopaedics, and over 100 research publications, Dr. Plakseychuk is an expert in the complete care of patients with hip and knee disorders. 

Dr. Plakseychuk’s family has deep roots in medical practice. In the early 1900s, his great grandmother worked as a midwife in Warsaw, Poland. Today, his daughter, Liza Plakseychuk, is training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Liza will be a 4th generation physician, and the 3rd generation of orthopaedic surgeons in the Plakseychuk family!
